Growing up on a ranch in southern California, Hannah Selleck fell in love with horses at an early age. Now an accomplished show jumping competitor, Selleck operates Descanso Farm, her boutique training operation based in California, and successfully competes at the grand prix level.

Selleck got her start in the show ring at the age of 10 and, during her junior career, won team silver medals at both the 2005 Prix des States Junior Jumper National Championship in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and in the Junior division of the 2006 North American Junior and Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC) in Lexington, Virginia. In 2007, Selleck was named the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Hunt Medal Finals Reserve Champion and the following year won the Platinum Performance/USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals – West. Returning to the 2008 edition of the NAJYRC in Parker, Colorado, Selleck won individual and team gold medals in the Young Rider division in addition to earning the style of riding award.

Since entering the grand prix ranks, Selleck has earned numerous top 10 finishes in international show jumping competition, including a win in the $38,000 CSI2* Canadian Pacific Grand Prix at the 2015 Longines Masters of Los Angeles aboard her top horse, Barla. Following the Oldenburg mare’s retirement during the 2020 winter season, Selleck is concentrating on the development of Elita Toscita DF and Rumpleteazer DF, both bred by her Descanso Farm, as well as competing a small string of sales horses, including Kasper van het Leliehof.

In addition to pursuing her own equestrian success, Selleck is passionate about making a difference and serves as an ambassador for Brooke USA, a charity dedicated to improving the welfare of horses, donkeys, and mules in the developing world. She is proudly sponsored by equestrian apparel and equipment brands Butet, Cavalleri Toscana, Kask, Parlanti, and Roeckl.
