Updated Capital Challenge Schedule and Prize List Available Online

An updated prize list and schedule for the 2020 Capital Challenge Horse Show, to be held September 25 – October 4 at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, OH, are now available online at CapitalChallenge.org.
The newly released prize list and schedule reflect changes made following the horse show’s move from the Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, to the World Equestrian Center.
“We are delighted to welcome Capital Challenge to World Equestrian Center – Ohio,” said World Equestrian Center owner Roby Roberts.
“Although we decided not to run our own competitions during the fall and winter, when the Capital Challenge approached us to host their event, we felt that it was important to support them in their quest to choose a new venue,” continued Roberts, whose World Equestrian Center has been the presenting sponsor of Capital Challenge since 2016. “We have instituted special COVID-19 protocols to ensure the health and safety of our staff and guests. Our indoor arenas feature floor-to-ceiling doors that can be rolled up to create maximum airflow in the competition areas, and Southwest Ohio’s mild weather ensures that our indoor facilities can be completely open during the show.”
The 10-day horse show will kick off on Friday, September 25, with Equitation Weekend, presented by BigEq.com, and featuring the EMO Insurance Agency/United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) 3'3" Jumping Seat Medal Final – East, the Palm Beach International Academy (PBIA) North American Junior Equitation Championships, the North American Adult Amateur Equitation Championships, and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Children’s Medal Finals.
Beginning on Monday, September 28, Capital Challenge will host the nation’s best hunter horses and riders for hunter division competition and the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Hunter Challenges. Throughout the week, the show will offer WCHR Hunter Challenge classes for amateurs, adults, juniors, children, ponies, professionals, and developing professionals.
This year’s $5,000 WCHR Developing Pro Challenge and the $25,000 WCHR Professional Challenge, sponsored by the Gochman Family, will be held on Wednesday, September 30. The top professional hunter riders in the country will also go head to head in the $10,000 WCHR Professional Finals on Friday, October 2, following the Ariat National Adult Medal Final that afternoon.
Each year, the up-and-coming stars of hunter sport are showcased at Capital Challenge in the $25,000 3' and 3'3" Green Hunter North American Championship, sponsored by the Wheeler Family. This year, the popular class will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 30.
For 2020, the Capital Challenge Horse Show will also welcome the North American League (NAL) Finals, and the NAL Jumper Finals and the Medium Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers will now be held on Monday, September 28, and Tuesday, September 29.
“Our goal is to provide Capital Challenge with the best competition environment and experience possible for the exhibitors and their horses,” concluded Roberts.
